Dr. Chen Wenzhao, Professor of Chinese Medicine
Dr. Chen is a registered Chinese medicine practitioner and acupuncturist, who has been studying under the tutelage of famous medical masters, seeking ancient teachings and learning from others. Her specialties include lumbar disc protrusion, cervical spondylosis, lumbar and leg pain, frozen shoulder, insomnia, acne, infertility, menstrual disorders, skin diseases, tumors, rheumatism, stroke, and facial paralysis, cough, asthma, vertigo, heart disease, spleen and stomach disease, prostate disease, etc.

The Auckland Chinese Medicine Clinic was established in September 2002 with four staffs, including 1 full-time acupuncturist, 1 full-time acupuncturist, 1 part-time acupuncturist, and 1 appointment and dispensing staff.
The clinic has a business area of 110 square meters, with medicine dispensing and waiting room, a pulse-taking room and five acupuncture treatment rooms, where each patient uses disposable needles and disposable bed linen. The services include pulse-taking, medicine dispensing, foreign prescriptions, purchase of proprietary Chinese medicines and acupuncture treatment. There is a choice of herbal tablets and no-decoction pellets. Acupuncture methods include acupuncture, moxibustion, massage, cupping, gua sha and bloodletting.
Speciality acupuncture treatments include electrothermal acupuncture and fire acupuncture, a combination of electro-acupuncture and moxibustion, which is rare in other New Zealand TCM clinics. The areas of consultation include internal medicine, gynaecology, dermatology and surgery, male medicine, orthopaedics and traumatology, osteopathy, ophthalmology and tumour rehabilitation.
